Saat Pardon Main

There was something quite engaging about the promos, it seems like a conventional story and yet at the same time, is quite different as well. The serial directed by Yasir Nawaz is quite engaging in nature and supports an excellent Cast. Saat Pardon Main is on-air on Geo-TV now.

It's the story of a young girl Darakhshanday Badar who is born to a feudal family. She is adored by her father. And has an elder brother who is married and mostly lives in Islamabad. She is obsessed with a celebrity actor named Ahsan Murad. Her maid Gulabi is her confidant in this matter and the sole person responsible for misguiding her and persuading her to contact Ahsan.
Ahsan Murad like most cliche celebrities, is an egotist and morally corrupt. He is quite insensitive and has a flirty nature.

Badar Suleman, a producer and friend of Ahsan Murad is introduced as a good natured person with a serious psychological condition. Occasionally, during night he believes himself to be a woman which entails dressing up and acting like one. He is consulting a Doctor regarding this and his friendship with Ahsan is supposed to be part of his treatment.

Ahsan gives him Darakhshanday's number as he is fed-up with her calls. Complying with the Doctor's advice Badar gets in touch with her and is shocked to find out that she is in love with Ahsan. Knowing Ahsan, he realizes what a bad idea this is. He tries to disenchant her, but to no avail. He is portrayed as a caring and sensitive person with a pragmatic personality. He views Darakhshanday as an immature young girl.

Darakhshanday finds out that she is soon to be wed and tries her utmost to get out of the arrangement but fails. In the meantime Gulabi, the duplicitous maid has been having a secret affair with Darakhshanday's brother and is holding a grudge against him for insulting her (Gulabi) in front of his wife. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! Thus she convinces Darakhshanday to run away on her Mehndi night. And she does that, leaving her father a note.

Darakhshanday is basically an immature girl who is living in a fantasy world. However she is about to discover that fantasies seldom survive the brutal blows of reality.

Review and comments on Meri Behen Maya Episode 11

This episode was quite intense. Rashid finds out that Maya's father is following him so he takes Maya to his house in Lahore. He make an arrangement with Maya where she is to pretend to be his wife when they are among people while they are in Lahore. Rashid is a control freak with a sick mind, and is hell-bent on keeping Maya.
Maya is hiding from her father and Zarmeena but she really needs to find a better alternative to do so, rather than relying on possessive Rashid.

Zarmeena is still upset from her sister's disappearance and is not able to concentrate on her studies. Her reaction is of course quite natural as she can't focus in this depressing situation.

Ek Naye Cinderella

One of our most favourite and loveable play at this time, a remake of the popular fairy tail in a modern Pakistani setting. Some of the effects are quite comic in nature and give one a refreshing feel. The main character Meesha is quite innocent and at the same time wise well beyond her young age.

The Play is written by Faiza Iftikhar, known for Manchalay, Yahan Pyar Nahee Hai, and Bilqees Kaur, to name a few...

About the Plot

Meesha lives with her stepmother, two step sisters and her "granny". Meesha meets Mayer who is a wealthy and handsome man, in a carnival one day. She immediately falls for his charm, looks and wealth. That is when Romaan comes into her life, his character is quite amazing and his witty personality introduces color and life to the play. He has no wealth but a beautiful heart. He introduces himself as a Parizaad, which in all her innocence she actually believes. He offers to assist Meesha in her quest to win over Mayer's heart. Of course Romaan has the deepest of feelings for her, one can see a tragedy in the making for the poor soul....

Meesha is living in a fantasy where she is looking for a Prince Charming who will come into her life and this will solve all her troubles. She will soon realize that she does not need an idealized prince to solve her problems but a man like Romaan who has a loving and caring nature and is human enough to be loved. Mehr (Saba Hameed) who our Meesha's stepmother wishes Mayer to marry her elder daughter and sees Romaan as en eligible candidate for her younger daughter.

Since the play is currently on air, we are waiting to see what Meesha will do next. How will she finally get disenchanted from Mayer's charm. How she will discover her feelings for the lovable underdog Romaan and accept that he is her one true soul-mate... :)

Meri Behen Maya

Our all time beloved writer Haseena Moin, known for classic works: Dhoop Kinare, Tanhaiyan, and Ankahi, brings us another promising show. This play has already won the attention of many viewers. Annie Jaffari has played the character of Maya to excellence. Her story seems very strange and painful.

The play is on air these days. Its a must watch serial. Maya's journey has just begun... and one is yet to see what lies ahead for her.

Maya's character is quite innocent, which makes her elder sister Zarmeen (Neelam) quite protective of her. Zarmeena is a charming girl who is very caring and affectionate when it comes to her sister Maya.

Fizer (Danish Taimoor) a lively guy full of energy and wit wants to marry Zarmeena and regards Maya as his little sister. Maya is also quite take to him. Enter Rashid, Zarmeena's step brother (not related by blood) who is obsessed with Maya. Rashid's presence and Maya's current vulnerable circumstance leads one to yearn for a male lead for Maya...

We hope that Maya faces the various hurdles in her life with courage. We have many expectations from Haseena Moin regarding this play. Let's see what she has planned for Maya... :)

Zindagi Gulzar Hai

We all have been waiting in much anticipation for the new drama written by Umera Ahmed: "Zindagi Gulzar Hai". This was actually the first short story written by her. The promos are stunning and present a picture that a true drama lover can't resist. It brings quite a strong cast as well.

Spoiler Alert (Story)

The story revolves around Kashaf (the cute looking Sanam Saeed) and Zaroon (our beloved hero from Hamsafar, Fawad Khan). They are very different from each other. Zaroon's life is full of colours and he belongs to a wealthy family while Kashaf is facing both social and financial difficulties in her life, she is quite a pessimist. They meet in the University where they are students in the same class. They find themselves developing a distaste for the other from the very beginning. Zaroon tries to seduce Kashaf in an effort to prove a point but fails in the attempt when he is soon discovered as a flirt. After an intense fight they avoid each other till the end of University. They are reunited in professional life and Zaroon starts developing feelings for her because of her strong character and integrity and decides to marry her. But Kashaf doesn't like him and keeps rejecting his offers. Zaroon succeeds in convincing her with the help of their teacher whom Kashaf has deep respect for. Their marriage is quite rocky in the beginning but love finally prevails as it always does. And ultimately Kashaf's perception towards life changes for the better.

This is a MUST WATCH. :)

Tanhayian Naye Silsilay

We all loved watching Tanhayian while growing up. In a way, we are a Haseena Moin generation... Imagine our delight when it was revealed that the old cast is getting back together to make a sequel. :)

Spoiler Alert (The story)

The first few episodes were quite depressing. We discover that Sania (Mareena Khan) has not met her sister Zara (Shehnaz Sheikh) for the last few odd years. And that Farhan (Qazi Wajid) has lost all his business and is living a monkish existance confined to his room brooding about lost fortune and name, all day long.

The family is soon reunited as Zain (Asif Raza Mir) and his two daugters return to Pakistan and stay at Sania's house. It is quite an emotional scene when they reveal that Zara died a few years ago.

Amidst all this intense and emotional roller coaster ride, the story takes a turn for the better when our old beloved Qabacha (Behroz Sabzwari) returns to Pakistan, only to move in opposite Sania's house. It is quite heartening to see that Qabacha has a son now with an equally difficult to pronounce name: Shamsuddin Iltitmish (or something of the sort) and that time has done little to quench Qabacha's thirst for Sania's acknowledgement. ;)

Conclusion

Will this be as big a hit as it's prequel, only time will tell. But for now we do see it as a promising effort. We salute Mareena and the gang for getting back together and rekindling our long love affair with the original Tanhayian. For now, that's all she wrote... :)
